Sotaki collects the minimum information necessary to provide our English accent training service. This includes your email address and name (provided during registration), pronunciation recordings (processed in real-time and not stored permanently), progress data (levels completed, scores, streaks), and device information for push notifications.
We use your information to provide personalized accent training, track your learning progress, send you daily reminders and weekly progress reports (if enabled), improve our pronunciation assessment algorithms, and process subscription payments through Apple.
Sotaki processes your pronunciation recordings to provide accent scores and feedback. Audio is analyzed in real-time and is not stored on our servers after processing. We do not use your voice recordings for any purpose other than providing immediate pronunciation feedback.
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use the following third-party services: Supabase for authentication and data storage, Apple for payment processing, RevenueCat for subscription management, and PostHog for anonymous usage analytics. Each of these services has their own privacy policy.
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience. This includes which features are used, session duration, and app performance metrics. No personally identifiable information is shared with our analytics provider.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account from the app's Settings page. Upon deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
Sotaki is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the effective date.
